Serge EKUE

President and Chairman of the Board of Directors

  • Renforcement des partenariats pour le développement de projets climatiques en Afrique de l'Ouest ;

  • Mobilisation des financements auprès des mécanismes et partenaires financiers pour l'action climatique ;

  • Contribution à l’agenda régional et mondial, notamment dans l'opérationnalisation du « Fonds Pertes et Préjudices » visant la mise à disposition initiale de 100 milliards USD pour soutenir les États les plus vulnérables.

Since 1973, we have worked alongside Governments and local stakeholders of WAEMU to bring their priorities to

life — from quality education, access to healthcare, and sustainable renewable energy, to building resilient agriculture, addressing climate challenges, and ensuring food security.

By harnessing our technical and financial expertise, we strive to transform each of your ambitions into reality — making West Africa, the land of your aspirations, a land of opportunity, a land of prosperity, and a land for a better, sustainable future.

Meet our experts

At BOAD, tomorrow starts today

For over five decades, we have worked hand in hand with WAEMU member countries to turn bold ambitions into tangible results. In 2023, we decided to look even further — imagining BOAD for the next 50 years, and the West Africa we want to see in 2073.

This vision is not a dream — it is already taking shape. Agricultural drones are flying over our fields. Modern trains are connecting our cities. Skilled minds from our region are building electric vehicles. The future is no longer a distant horizon — it is unfolding before us.

We believe that progress must be rooted in our identity. Technology and tradition can move forward together, shaping a future that reflects who we are. That is why we invest in innovation, sustainability, and inclusion — so that West Africa in 2075 will not only be more advanced, but also fairer, more human, and more united.

Welcome to the Africa we are determined to build. Welcome to our future
